Maintaining the trust and confidence of our clients is a high priority. At Weitzel Financial Services, Inc. (herein referred to as WFS) we want you to understand how we protect your privacy, when we collect and use information about you, and the steps that we take to safeguard that information.
Information We Collect
WFS is required by law to collect personal, non-public information from you. Information is recorded on account cards and applications and is used to determine suitability for various types of investments. The information collected includes your name, address, date of birth, tax payer identification number, occupation, financial goals, assets, income, driver’s license number, financial history, health history, and similar data. While we are required by various regulatory authorities to request this information, clients are not required to provide it; however, this may prevent us from doing business with you.
Information We Disclose and to Whom
WFS does not disclose any personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted or required by law. Through normal business operations, WFS may disclose the types of information below to companies that assist us in conducting our business, perform administrative or other services on our behalf, or other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements.
Information we receive from you on applications and other forms, such as name, address, Social Security Number, assets and income;
Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates or others, such as policy coverage, premiums, and payment history; and
Information received from consumer reporting agencies and other sources, such as your credit worthiness and history, medical information and employment information.
Confidentiality and Security of Your Information
WFS maintains adequate physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the confidentiality and security of our customers’ nonpublic personal information. We strive to educate our employees about the terms and conditions of this Notice and the importance of customer privacy. Access to nonpublic personal information is restricted to those employees, regulatory authorities, and others who need to know information to provide products or services to our customers, maintain accounts, or conduct our business.
Closed or Inactive Accounts
If for whatever reason our customer relationship ends and accounts become closed or inactive, we will preserve your information as necessary to comply with applicable laws. The measures we take to protect the privacy of your customer information as described in this Privacy Police Notice will continue to apply to you.
Accuracy of Your Records
Accuracy of our customers’ information is important to WFS. In order to maintain that accuracy, our customers have the right to reasonably access their information. If our customers believe any information in our possession is inaccurate, a request to amend or delete the information believed to be erroneous is strongly encouraged. If upon researching the request, and WFS concurs, the information will be amended or deleted.
